It's not Dolley. (maybe next year!)
It's this little creature. Seriously, if you need a laugh or a smile, check this out. There are no words for how cute this is...

Simple Dolley
Friday, November 26, 2010
I was lucky enough to share my Thanksgiving with my husband and two friends. (and Clara and Dolley, of course!)
As hard as she tried, Dolley was unable to land a coveted spot at the thanksgiving table
Maybe next year... (but probably not...)

Happy Thanksgiving from Dolley & Clara
Dolley and Clara wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving
Complete with all the trimmings
And, of course, dessert
I will just say that I am thankful to have such lively, loving characters who bring a smile to my face each day. Except at 5am when they wake me up by knocking things off shelves and just sitting on the nightstand staring at me...
| "Don't mind me! I'm just waiting for something to fall on the floor..." |
| "I smell turkey!" |
Complete with all the trimmings
TURKEY!!!!!!

Dolley's Adventure
ok... this is the second time i'm trying to post this. The first time, i got all the text written and the pictures uploaded and then hit a button and everything got deleted... grrrrr
The other afternoon, I let Dolley outside on our back patio. Dolley LOVES to be outside. She will wait by the door when I get home and try to bolt outside for freedom. Unfortunately for her, she is very easily distracted and her great escape is usually quickly done in by a lovely (and apparently very tasty) patch of grass at the end of our driveway.
On this day, we let her outside in the 'backyard.'
She usually spends her time skulking around the underbrush or rolling around on the brick patio. Occasionally, she will try to make a break for it.
Luckily, she was pretty content to just chillax outside with us.
We even had an avian visitor that she took some interest in (once I pointed it out to her)
Alas, Clara took absolutely no notice and was content to continue surveying the landscape.
With those keen hunting skills, I don't think the birds in our neighborhood have much to fear from these two.

Further Introductions
As a further introduction to the "stars" of this blog, here is a picture of Dolley
and here is a picture of Clara
Clara has some clouding in her eye. She was born with it and the vet thinks it's a congential defect. It doesn't effect her vision at all, although I think she uses it for pity on unsuspecting guests as a ploy to get more food... The only effect she seems to have from it is a slight lack of depth perception, which can make it a little humorous (and treacherous) to play with a string with her... otherwise, she is fine.
I was inspired to start this blog when I came home from work yesterday and found this
Most days, when I come home, I find something out of the ordinary. Today, I knew that Dolley was the culprit because she has an unusual love for bread products. I don't know why, but she will seek out bread (or bagels, biscuts, crackers, rolls, pretty much any wheat product) and eat it. She will chew through the plastic bag to get to it. Owning Dolley prompted us to need a breadbox; just to keep the bread safe. Many times, I have come home from the grocery store and forgotten to put the bread safely away and woke up the following morning to find a massacred bag of bread or bagles on the counter. One thanksgiving, we had no rolls becasue she had helped herself to an early feast on the rolls. My husband can't even enjoy a sandwich in peace because Dolley will sneak attack his plate and drag the bread off. I don't know what's wrong with the cat!!
Has anybody else ever had a cat or dog (or other pet) that had an unhealthy love for some strange food?

I live with 2 cats. One is a "traditional" cat, who is somewhat shy, aloof, stubborn, and a queen bee. That's Clara. Our first cat and the absolute apple of my husband's eye. Then, we have Dolley. Dolley is really a dog trapped in a cats body. Both Clara and Dolley are rescues. We adopted Clara when she was about 8 months old and we adopted Dolley when she was just a tiny little kitten.
Everyday, these two get into some kinda trouble. I never really know what to expect when I come home.
This blog is my chance to share all their crazy antics with the world.
Stay tuned to see what shenanigans Dolley (and occasionally, her cohort, Clara) are up to today...
