Dolley in a box, with food
By now, you probably know that Dolley never met a box she didn't like.
Well, today, an order of Dave's Cat Food came, and Dolley was so excited by the DOUBLE-THRILL of a box AND food!
If only she had thumbs, she would have been in business!
She also enjoyed hiding under some of the filler paper.

From the desk of Clara: The Battle Rages On...
As you can see, she shall not abandon her post monitoring the humidifier...
Ever watchfull...
(seriously, this goes on ALL NIGHT! at least, until about 5am when she decides it's time we get up and feed her...)

Dolley Explores the China Cabinet
This is an older video of Dolley in our old apartment.
You can see she simply HAD to explore what was behind those cabinets.
(and, for any freinds who may now be afraid to dine at our house, don't worry; we washed all those dishes and she doesn't vetnure into the cabinets with the dishes anymore...)

Dolley in a Box; Preppy Edition
Well, she never met a box she didn't like, but today our girl has demonstrated her flair for the preppy style!
The ironic thing is, between the 2 cats' personalities, I take Clara to be more of a "Lilly" girl. Dolley's more of the outdoorsy, birkenstock-wearing, LL Bean sporting type. But, I guess every girl wants to have a little pink & green every once in a while.
Besides, the pink heart tag gives her that tiny bit of preppy-street-cred... as does her name. (she's named after Dolley Madison...)

Mani/Pedi Time!
Nothing like getting poked by five, tiny hypodermic needles everytime someone wants to sit on my lap...
Check out those TALONS!
I guess I know what I'm doing this evening. (and, yes, i know how pathetic that sounds...)

"I'm ready for my CLOSE-UP..."
EXTREME close up of Dolley...
Taken as I was walking up the stairs and she's wedged herself between the stairailing...
wants to see if I've brought her anything good.

Clara's Nemesis
I know this blog is titled "The Daily Dolley", but today, I'm going to feature Clara (aka, Evil 1) because, while she's a little more Greta Garbo to Dolley's Kim Kardashian, Clara does have adorable moments every day.
Here's one:
Clara is very suspicious of the humidifier in the bedroom. I don't know what great insult a humidifier caused her in the past, but every year, she has a real issue with the humidifier. (it's not just this one; it's every one we've ever had.) I used to put a towel on the floor under the humidifier just in case it leaked a little, the towel could soak up some of the water. Clara was NOT having ANY of the towel under the humidifier. She would scratch at the towel trying to get it out from under the humidifier until she was either successful in freeing said towel or, more often and likely, tipped the humidifier over (almost always right after I re-filled it) thus causing water to spill out. I should also note that she usually mounted this attack between the hours of 1 and 4am, probably after hours of staring and recon...
This year, we have a bigger humidifier that's more like a tower fan... Clara is still not impressed.
As soon as we turn it on, she goes on high alert and will just stare at it...
from all angles...
one time she actually swiped at it, but that's all the contact I've seen so far.
I don't know what it is about the humidifier that bothers her. Maybe it's the intermittent bubbles that come up from the base of the reservoir????
Who knows. If I spent all my time trying to figure out what's going on in that tiny brain of theirs, I would probably still be living in my parent's basement.
*btw, I learned in writing and proofing this post that I have no idea how to spell "humidifier"

Napping
Here are a few shots of Dolley nappin out.
She LOVES to sit on top of me and nap, e
one moment; just heard an ominous crash from downstairs...
So, there is officially now NO safe place in the house; just discovered her on top of the fridge. Of course, she knew she was totally busted, and jumped down before I could get the camera to document the crime...
Anyway: Dolley (or, Evil 2, as she is sometimes known) loves to nap, particularly when I put the blanket over me.
So, here are a few shots of her in her napping bliss.
Perhaps these will inspire you to nap out on this dreary President's Day.

Where did you go?
Hubs and I went on vacation for a week.
This meant that Dolley & Clara were left in the capable hands of our buddy Starbuck77 for the duration. (thanks again Starbuck77!!!)
While I was packing, Dolley found a neat new hiding place

When we got back, kittehs were happy to see us... and Dolley expressed her thoughts on us going away (without her) as we unpacked.

Slushy, snowy day
It's really crappy outside right now. Slushy, yucky, wet, and snleeting (it can't decide between snow & sleet). This morning, as we were about to head out for work, Dolley got very excited, as she was about to make her morning mad dash outside; until we opened the door. She made it about one foot out of the house and stopped. She didn't want to go out in that. Mind you, she didn't really want to come in either; so she just stood there, right at the threshold, with the door wide open. She even went all the way to the end of the entryway and started towards the door at frantic run. Perhaps she thought if she got a running start, it would be better. Until she screeched to a halt, once again, right at the threshold. Seems nothing could get her outside this morning.
Dolley is now sleeping in front of the fireplace; enjoying the warmth. And the dryness.
So, here are a few pictures I took of Dolley during last year's big snow storm.

| I made Dolley a snowball, since she loves cold stuff; she will litereally sit in front of the fridge and freezer when I open them. |

Dolley in a Box, with packing material
This is one of the pictures I took over the holidays of Dolley. I was unpacking a box that was used to ship some Christmas gifts I ordered and, in no time flat, she hopped in the box and made herself at home. I should mention that, for as long as I've had her, Dolley has LOVED boxes. And anytime there is an empty box around, or even an empty clothes basket, she will hop in it. This was an added benefit for her in that the box was filled with packing paper, and, in addition to boxes, Dolley loves paper or anything that crinkles.
I apologize if some of the pictures are out of focus; she was having such a great time that it was hard to get all the shots of her.
