Slushy, snowy day

It's really crappy outside right now.  Slushy, yucky, wet, and snleeting (it can't decide between snow & sleet).  This morning, as we were about to head out for work, Dolley got very excited, as she was about to make her morning mad dash outside; until we opened the door.  She made it about one foot out of the house and stopped.  She didn't want to go out in that.  Mind you, she didn't really want to come in either; so she just stood there, right at the threshold, with the door wide open.  She even went all the way to the end of the entryway and started towards the door at frantic run.  Perhaps she thought if she got a running start, it would be better. Until she screeched to a halt, once again, right at the threshold.  Seems nothing could get her outside this morning.

Dolley is now sleeping in front of the fireplace; enjoying the warmth.  And the dryness.

So, here are a few pictures I took of Dolley during last year's big snow storm.

I made Dolley a snowball, since she loves cold stuff; she will litereally sit in front of the fridge and freezer when I open them.

Détente Through Dinner

transfixed by food...

'What?"
I can't belive these two are sitting together, let alone on the same arm of the sofa!

Behold!  The peacemaking properties of meatballs!

Dolley in a Box, with packing material

This is one of the pictures I took over the holidays of Dolley.  I was unpacking a box that was used to ship some Christmas gifts I ordered and, in no time flat, she hopped in the box and made herself at home.  I should mention that, for as long as I've had her, Dolley has LOVED boxes.  And anytime there is an empty box around, or even an empty clothes basket, she will hop in it.  This was an added benefit for her in that the box was filled with packing paper, and, in addition to boxes, Dolley loves paper or anything that crinkles.

I apologize if some of the pictures are out of focus; she was having such a great time that it was hard to get all the shots of her.

The one in which Clara thinks she's going to starve...

"Did you happen to notice the food bowls are empty?"

"Well, at least you gave us some water..."

"Seriously. No food!?!"

"Fine. I'll just make do with these crumbs on the floor."

"I really wish you'd put that camera down and get some kibble here."

You're nobody until you've been ignored by a cat

It has been a while since I last posted any pictures.  Both Dolley & Clara provided lots of shots for me over the last month.  Too bad they also provided lots of shenanigans for me to deal with.

For instance, one morning, we were awakened by an ominous sounding "thud."  Both of us said, at the same time in a sleepy haze, "what the mailto:&%5E#*@$ was that?"  We trudged downstairs to find that Dolley, apparently unhappy with our laziness in not getting up to feed her, knocked a jar of pasta sauce off the kitchen table.  The jar somehow opened (?) which sent pasta sauce down the heating/cooling vent where she knocked the offending jar.  I spent the next 40 minutes reaching as far down the heating vent as I could to try to wipe up the pasta sauce.  Dolley seemed to enjoy the show, as she just laid down and watched us frantically run around to try to deal with her "project."  Here's hoping I got all the sauce and our house won't smell like a chef boyardee can whenever we run the heat or AC...  good times.
